“Not if you were the last man on earth!” Plenty of guys have heard that line at some point in their lives, but it’s unlikely that Will Smith is one. His irresistible charm has been proved, above all, by his ability to attract audiences to bad movies like “Hitch” and “Wild Wild West,” as well as to better ones like “Ali” and “The Pursuit of Happyness.” In spite of its third-act collapse into obviousness and sentimentality, “I Am Legend” — in which Mr. Smith plays somebody with every reason to believe that he really is the last man on earth — is among the better ones.

Love stories are aplenty on celluloid. But director Gautham Vasudev Menon still manages to make Ye Maya Chesave refreshing, thanks to a realistic screenplay.

A simple premise -- boy meets girl and is pulled into the magic world of love -- is stretched into a full-fledged Telugu film by Gautham Menon, resulting in a breezy and lyrical movie thanks to A R Rahman's [ Images ] brilliant music and background score.

What's it all about?
Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Death Proof) stars as Lauryn, a smalltown girl who works as a book keeper in the family autoshop business, whilst dreaming of attending a prestigious dance school in Chicago. Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs is the most cartoonish animated film I've seen in a long time, and I mean that as a compliment. Taking inspiration from Looney Tunes classics, Buster Keaton, and Jerry Bruckheimer movies in equal measures, co-directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller have adapted Ron and Judi Barrett's kids book into a true larger-than-life tale, creating a world that scarcely resembles anything that could or would happen, and manages to be all the more exciting because of it.

As if recognizing the math on their side -- 10 nominees, plus the blockbuster to beat all blockbusters -- the producers of this year's Oscarcast played like a team protecting a big lead.
